I believe breakfast is a very important, if not the most important, meal of the day. No matter how much in rush we are I always make sure Johaan gets a good nutritious start of the day.
This recipe is very simple and takes only few minutes to prepare. I usually substitute the dried fruits with fresh fruit like blueberries/grated apple/grapes in the summer months.
Hearty Oatmeal
Ingredients
- 6 heeped teaspoons of whole grain oatmeal
- 1 cup of water
- dried fruits: blueberries/cranberries/cherries/prunes
- pecans
- 2 teaspoons of whole milk organic yoghurt
- honey/aguave syrup
Instructions
- Mix oatmeal, fruits, pecans and water and bring to boil.
- Simmer until thick.
- Add yoghurt and drizzle over the honey.
